Since 2010, Sarah-Jean has run a professional proofreading, editing, and tutoring business. She has worked with over 50 private clients, including several Master's and PhD students, for whom she has successfully proofread theses and dissertations of up to 35,000 words. On occasion, Sarah-Jean has also provided services for professionals on letters, resumes, creative writing manuscripts, and various other documents. She has also been the managing editor of an online creative writing magazine for nearly 3 years.
Several of Sarah-Jean's clients have English as their second language and have approached her for assistance with grammar, sentence structure, and the clear expression of ideas. She also offers both suggestions regarding structural revisions and extensive feedback on content where applicable, and gives her commentary in a warm, friendly manner via the Track Changes feature of a word processor.
Sarah-Jean's educational background includes a BA in English with First Class Honours, an MA, and coursework completion of a PhD in English, which she left in 2010 to pursue other goals. During her time in graduate school, Sarah-Jean worked as a teaching assistant to almost 75 students over 3 semesters. For the final class she taught, she received virtually all "very good" and "excellent" reviews from her students. Since 2012, Sarah-Jean has also worked closely in a one-on-one setting with 14 students with disabilities as an English and writing tutor.
